The Heart of Your Mind

OOF! Did you know this? Let me walk you through how your mindset is connected to the quality of your life. Let’s start with your heart, and when I say heart I’m not talking about that awesome organ pumping blood in your chest, I’m referring to the heart of your mind. The Word says that “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Prov. 23:7). Depending on your level of self-discipline, these could be good thoughts or bad thoughts.

Let’s now travel from the heart to the mouth. Once you think in your heart the Word says, “But the things that come out of a person's mouth come from the heart” (Matt. 15:18). Let’s now see what the Word says about your tongue, “they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts” (James 3:4). At this point, we understand that your thoughts form in your heart (mind) and travel to your mouth (tongue) which has the ability to direct the “ship” wherever it desires to go. If in your heart is negativity, complaining, curses, death, hopelessness, jealousy, bitterness, unforgiveness or stagnancy, guess what? It doesn’t stay there. It travels from your heart (mind), to your mouth, through your tongue and outward! Even if you try your hardest to keep it in, it’ll always find its way out.

Your heart (mind) and tongue steer you. If you want your life to be great, fix your heart (mindset) and rid it of those negative thoughts! Fill your heart with the Word, speak it out loud and watch the goodness of your life increase!
